Hibs striker Jason Cummings has been sent off playing for Hibs’ development team, having earlier given his side the lead.

Cummings, who has started the last three first-team games on the bench, scored after five minutes of today’s SPFL Development League match against Kilmarnock at Oriam. Jack Whittaker equalised for Killie before Cummings was shown a red card for dissent just before half-time by referee Scott Lambie.

Despite his sending-off, it is understood Cummings will be available for Saturday’s Ladbrokes Championship clash against Falkirk at Easter Road, as a red card for foul, abusive and insulting language only carries a competition-specific suspension.

Kilmarnock capitalised on their man advantage in the second half with goals from Iain Wilson and Jack Paterson (2) giving them a 4-1 win.
