Hibs star Lewis Stevenson’s testimonial dinner has completely sold out with all 850 tickets for the event at Edinburgh’s Corn Exchange going in just four days.
The Proclaimers are to play an hour-long set on the night with half the proceeds, at Stevenson’s insistence, going to two charities, the Jenni and David Paul Memorial Fund which supports CRY (cardiac risk in the young) and Leith Links, a group set up by Hibs fans to ensure more children see games at Easter Road.
Graeme Cadger, chairman of Stevenson’s testimonial committee, said: “We’ve had inquiries and bookings from all over the United Kingdom and various other countries.
“It shows the high esteem Lewis is held in by Hibs supporters as we only announced the dinner last Friday. We apologise to all those who have been unable to obtain tickets but hope everyone understands our position of selling on a first-come first-served basis.”
