Hibs midfielder Liam Craig faces a two-match ban for allegedly “kicking or attempting to kick” Hearts goalscorer Ryan Stevenson in the face during Wednesday’s League Cup derby.
Craig has been offered the punishment by Scottish Football Association compliance officer Vincent Lunny after being charged with violent conduct.
He has until Monday to respond, with a hearing pencilled in for next Thursday if he challenges the ban.
The incident is alleged to have taken place during the Jambos 1-0 quarter-final victory at Easter Road.
Craig is accused of breaching disciplinary Rule 200, with the wording of the charge “violent conduct by kicking or attempting to kick an opposing player [namely Ryan Stevenson] in the face”.
The Hibs player is free to play in tomorrow’s SPFL Premiership clash at Motherwell.
If the complaint is upheld, Craig will miss the following Premiership match against Inverness and one match in the League Cup.
