Hibs have signed Everton left-winger Matthew Kennedy on a six-month loan deal.

The 19-year-old, who has represented Scotland at Under-21 level, was signed by the Toffees from Kilmarnock and could make his debut for the Easter Road club tomorrow against Livingston if he gets international clearance in time.

Kennedy said: “I’m really excited about being here – Hibernian are a massive club and I’m looking forward to working with Alan Stubbs again.

“He was my manager with the under-21s at Everton and I’ve always enjoyed working with him, so everything about this loan move made sense.”

Hibs head coach Alan Stubbs, who worked with Kennedy when he was a coach at Goodison Park before joining Hibs, said: “Matthew is a player with huge potential and he will be a great addition to our squad.”
