Cody Mulhall played his first game of football in over a year as Hibs under-20s and St Johnstone under-20s drew 1-1 last night.
Hibs dominated the first half from the start and Conner Duthie struck in the fifth minute with a half-volley outside the box to give the home side the lead.
The second half was evenly contested and Dylan Easton equalised with 11 minutes to go.
Duthie, buoyed by his earlier goal, had several efforts to add to his tally before Mulhall almost added a second on 41 minutes. His audacious lob from 45 yards was tipped over the bar as Mark Hurst scrambled back to save his blushes.
The Irish youngster then fired over the bar before Easton forced Kleton Perntreou into a great save as the ball swirled about in the remnants of Hurricane Gonzalo.
St Johnstone brought more to the game in the second half, Craig Thomson and Adam Morgan both forcing Perntreou into saves.
Joe McBride’s team fashioned two chances for Max Todd before Easton levelled the scoring with a free-kick on 79 minutes.
Hibs under-20s: Perntreou, Dunsmore, Crane, Martyniuk, McGregor, Gardiner, Jordan Sinclair, Todd (McCaffrey, 80), L. Allan, Mulhall (Hendry, 65), Duthie. Unused substitutes: Brennan, Shaw, Smith.
