PARTICK Thistle have increased their options at goalkeeper for next season by signing free agent Tomas Cerny on a one-year deal.

The stopper spent the second half of last season playing understudy to Mark Oxley at Easter Road.

The 30-year old with battle it out with player-coach Paul Gallacher for the No.1 jersey at Firhill after the departure of Scott Fox.

A former Czech Republic under-21 international, Cerny impressed in his previous stint in the Scottish Premiership with Hamilton.

Joining in 2007, he spent five seasons at New Douglas Park, making over 100 league appearances before leaving for CSKA Sofia in the summer of 2012.

In January he joined Hibs to provide some much needed goalkeeping cover, but his services weren’t required on the field and he left without making a first team appearance.
