HONDURAN internationalist Jorge Claros will return to Easter Road to fulfil the final six months of his loan deal, the midfield star’s agent has claimed.

Doubt was cast on Claros’ future with Hibs after a message attributed to the 26-year-old was posted on a social networking site only a few days after he was substituted just 42 minutes into the Scottish Cup final against Hearts.

Claros had returned home immediately after the 5-1 hammering at Hampden to see his three-month old son for the first time and the message, translated from Spanish, read: “I can only thank Hibernian, thanks for these six months here were very emotional for me. I have no contract with the club and I thank you very much Hibernian.”

Those words have caused much speculation regarding Claros with opinion among Hibs fans very much divided, the general feeling he hadn’t lived up to his nickname of “The Pitbull,” after Easter Road boss Pat Fenlon had snapped him up on a year-long loan deal from Honduran side Motagua.

But now Claros’ agent Paulo Hernandez has insisted the player will report back with the rest of Fenlon’s squad for pre-season training on July 2.

Hernandez told the Honduran newspaper Diez: “Claros has a contract with Hibs until December and as far as I know he will report back for pre-season training. Claros is under contract to the club and is still there.”

Meanwhile, 6ft 3in Slovakian defender Lubo Michalik has become the latest player to be linked with a move to Easter Road. The 28-year-old, who won his eighth cap for his country when he played the 90 minutes of the weekend’s 1-0 defeat to Poland, is out of contract at Carlisle United although he has been offered a new deal by the Brunton Park club.
