Alan Stubbs today claimed Hibs had pulled off a “tremendous coup” after making midfielder Scott Allan his third signing of the summer.
Although high on the radar of Championship rivals Rangers and a clutch of English clubs, the former Dundee United star has agreed a two-year deal with the Capital side.
The 22-year-old was released by West Bromwich Albion at the end of last season having moved to the Midlands in a £300,000 deal and was anxious for a return to Scotland.
Stubbs said: “We’re delighted that we’ve been able to add Scott to our squad – he is a top-quality player with immense potential.
“He’s an outstanding young player with a bright future, so the fact he has agreed to come here to Hibernian is a tremendous coup for everybody at the club.”
Scotland Under-21 cap Allan said: “I’m an ambitious player and I want to achieve success here with Hibs.
“I’ve been impressed with what the manager has said and I want to help the club get back into the Scottish Premiership.”
