RYAN JACK cut an unlikely father figure at the Beardmore Hotel in Clydebank yesterday when Billy Stark assembled his new-look Scotland Under-21 squad.
The Aberdeen defender is only 20, but is the most experienced of the young Scots with ten caps. Jack, speaking ahead of the trip to Spain for friendly games against the United States and Canada Under-21s on Friday and Monday respectively, empathises with the new boys in Stark’s group and will be glad to pass on any tips.
He said: “It is obviously good that I have that experience behind me and I can help the young ones coming through. Players move on. It is a fresh campaign and we are looking to get going.
“I know how they feel, I have been there and it is really exciting. You want to impress and you are meeting a lot of new guys from other teams, but it is nothing to be nervous about.”
