Striker Steven Hislop has visited many a ground in Scottish football, but he’ll add another to his list when Bonnyrigg Rose visit Auchinleck Talbot’s Beechwood Park home in the Scottish Junior Cup fifth round.

Hislop, who spent 12 years at Senior level, revealed his dad, John Hislop, has told him what to expect when Rose visit the ten-time winners.

“It’ll be a tough place to go, certainly,” he said. “I’ve never actually played there, but I spoke to my dad and he played there when he was with Nitten. He said ‘You’ll enjoy that, be prepared for a battle.’ They’ll be happy with a home draw, but I don’t think they’ll be happy that they’ve got us.”

Hislop’s goal for former club Bo’ness United sent the Ayrshire side out of the cup in the third-round stage last season.

He added: “If you want to win it, you’ve got to beat the best.”

Rest of draw, dates TBC: St Andrews v Pollock or Cumnock, Yoker v Lesmahagow or Johnstone Burgh, Kilburnie v Hurlford or Bo’ness, Culter or Linlithgow v Camelon or Troon, Spey Valley or Penicuik v Arthurlie or Rob Roy, Clydebank or Shettleston v Newtongrange or Blantyre Vics, Fauldhouse v Musselburgh.
