Rangers striker Kris Boyd insists that throwing away two points at home to Alloa last Saturday has motivated the team even more to beat Hearts.
Liam Buchanan’s equaliser 12 minutes from the final whistle secured the Wasps a 1-1 draw at Ibrox, allowing Hearts to move six points clear at the top of the Championship by beating Falkirk 3-1. Boyd admitted Rangers let themselves down and wants to make amends when they travel to Tynecastle for the Saturday 12.45pm kick-off.
“The Hearts game was always going to be a huge one anyway but we let ourselves down against Alloa,” he said.
“We know it wasn’t good enough, coming off the back of a run of eight wins and getting into a position where we knew if we got a positive result it would put pressure on Hearts.
“But it’s done now and all we can do is learn from it, move on and look forward to the challenge on Saturday.”
