18-year-old man found dead near Arthur's Seat in Edinburgh this morning

Police were called to Meadowfield Park near Arthur’s Seat today at around 9am where an 18-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Enquiries are ongoing but a Police Scotland spokesperson said that there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death of the young man.

The spokesperson said: “Around 9.05am on Monday, January 4, police were called to Meadowfield Park, Edinburgh. An 18 year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

"Police enquiries are ongoing, however there do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.

"A full report will be forwarded to the Procurator Fiscal.”
