Leith Athletic 0
Edinburgh City 2
Strong gusts and a soft pitch made conditions tricky.
Leith had chances early on but Stevens shot wide from a good position before Cenerazzo had to clear Barrie’s header off the line. Lynch then volleyed just wide from distance. City’s first effort saw Gordon push away a Gair shot just before half-time.
Gair was denied a goal when Gordon did well to stretch and stop his shot across goal and, at the other end, the legs of Stobie prevented Combe’s mis-hit shot from going in. A City trialist had to clear a Cairns shot off the line before Leith’s Lowson was dismissed for pulling down Robbie Ross just outside the box. City made the breakthrough just after when Cenerazzo sent the ball to the back post where Dick shot in at the second attempt. Combe was then given a red card for foul and abusive language and City took advantage to score their second when Harrison forced home a Dick shot following a scramble
