Bo’ness United manager Allan McGonigal was left dismayed once more as his side were dealt a tough draw away to Super League leaders Kelty Hearts in the Junior Cup third round.

The BUs boss was left gutted with their potential William Hill Scottish Cup fourth round draw at home to Arbroath if they beat Elgin in Saturday’s replay, and last season’s Junior Cup quarter-finalists now face an arduous task in progressing in this season’s junior competition.

With Kelty unbeaten after ten games at the top of the Super League, it was a tie nobody wanted. However, McGonigal feels the Fifers won’t be happy with the draw either.

He said: “We keep getting these unbelievable draws – I actually burst out laughing when somebody texted me to tell me the draw. I wouldn’t think Kelty would be happy with the draw either, but they’ve got home advantage and they are flying.”

Draw for East Region sides: Musselburgh Athletic v Luncarty; Nairn v Fauldhouse United; Montrose Roselea v Linlithgow Rose; Troon v Arniston Rangers; Newtongrange Star v Maud; Penicuik Athletic v Arbroath Vics.
