Bo’ness United boss Allan McGonigal will have to draft in several trialists for their East of Scotland Cup final tomorrow due to an injury crisis at Newtown Park
The BUs lost both Darren Gribben and Nicky Walker to hamstring injuries after just 20 minutes of their semi-final penalty shootout win over Dundonald Bluebell on Wednesday night and McGonigal joked that he may have to play a defender as a striker against Hill of Beath in the final at Oakley United’s Blairwood Park.
“We are actually going to have to bring trialists in which is an absolute joke,” said McGonigal. “We’re talking about playing defenders up front just to try and make up the numbers just now.
“It would be a travesty for us if we weren’t to end the season without silverware as over the season we have merited it.”
Bo’ness are also without striker Mark Cowan and midfielder Andy Scott for their 49th match of the season.
Linlithgow Rose travel to Sauchie for their rearranged Fife & Lothians Cup semi-final tomorrow.
