SUPER LEAGUE side Bo’ness United are hopeful of agreeing a deal to bring former Falkirk player Pedro Moutinho to Newtown Park.
Portuguese striker Moutinho, 35, who signed a short-term deal with League One Stenhousemuir until the end of last season, is wanted by several senior clubs, but Bo’ness boss Allan McGonigal has had him on trial and is desperate to secure his signature.
Moutinho scored twice as a trialist on Monday night as Bo’ness beat Premier League new boys Haddington Athletic 4-2, with the former Maritimo player scoring a second-half free-kick.
“Pedro would certainly be an asset to us as he proved the other night what a good goalscorer he is,” said McGonigal.
“He’s got bags and bags of ability and it would be good to get him in. It’s up to him whether he wants to drop down and play, which I’m sure he would do now he has a wee zest for it.
“He’s as well being a top player with us rather than a squad player with someone else.”
