EDINBURGH CITY suffered at the hands of Highland League opposition again as ten-man Buckie knocked the Lowland League champions out of the William Hill Scottish Cup.

City’s first chance came when Sim had to tip away MacDonald’s shot before McFarland was denied in a goalmouth scramble.

City made the breakthrough in the 35th minute when Chris McKee rose at the back post to head in a corner. Worse was to come for the visitors when Jay Cheyne was sent off for violent play. Despite being down to ten men, Buckie were able to come back into the game after the restart and Amos had to block Kevin Fraser’s shot before MacRae rose to head in a cross for the equaliser.

McFarland then had to clear a shot off the line before the visitors grabbed the winner with ten minutes left when Angus lobbed into the net.

At the death, Sim did well to stop a McKee shot in front of goal but the visitors held out for the 2-1 win.
