Three goals in six first-half minutes effectively clinched the win for Edinburgh City as the Lowland league leaders dispatched East of Scotland League outfit Easthouses in the South Region Challenge Cup.
After an evenly-matched first half-hour, City suddenly hit the home side with a goal blitz.
Donaldson sent a low ball across the goal and Ortega Deniran sent an angled shot under Falconer for the opener.
On 33 minutes, Ross Allum’s free-kick hit the wall and Ryan Wilson reacted with a beautifully placed shot. Three minutes later, the same player nodded in a third from a Gair cross.
City made it four in 41 minutes. Breaking out of defence, McKee found Allum on the half-way line and raced forward to loop the ball over Falconer’s head from outside the box.
Lily were revived with the wind at their backs in the second half. In 58 minutes, Paul McDermott’s corner squeezed into the goal at the front post and, with 15 minutes to play a ball from the left was poorly cleared by the City defence and Steven Campbell drilled home a low shot from 20 yards.
Deniran netted City’s fifth a minute from time.
