CRAIGROYSTON have the chance to pull further clear of the chasing pack in East of Scotland Qualifying League Section C when they play host to city rivals Leith Athletic tonight (7pm)
Craigie go into the clash on the back of a thrilling 5-4 win at Burntisland at the weekend, where they emerged from 3-0 down to clinch a valuable three-point haul in Section C.
With victory at Heriot-Watt in their previous Qualifying League outing, Craigroyston will be aiming to preserve their 100 per cent cup record this term.
Craigie boss Ross McNeil said: “We’re going out to get the three points. Like the other four teams in the group, we want to progress. Scoring eight goals in the last two games is good, so we are doing okay.”
Last season, Craigie and Leith faced each other five times, and Leith boss Derek Riddel can inspire his troops with a reminder that Athletic triumphed in four of those meetings, including the Alex Jack Cup final.
Lothian Thistle and Tynecastle both host Section A fixtures, against Kelso United and Civil Service Strollers respectively, while Edinburgh University are at home to Duns and Ormiston travel to Stirling University in Section B.
Section D action comes in the form of Coldstream v Peebles Rovers, while the solitary First Division clash this evening is in Midlothian, where Easthouses Lily face Eyemouth United.
