There was a strong feeling of déjà vu at Ainslie Park as Hibs Ladies thumped Spartans 5-1 on the final day of the Scottish Women’s Premier League campaign for the second-successive season
Goals from Lisa Robertson (2), Lizzie Arnot (2) and Kirsty Smith gave the Hibees a comprehensive victory.
Victory ensured that Hibs finished ahead of their city rivals, who had gone into the match on a six-game unbeaten run.
Hibs manager Chris Roberts commented: “It was very pleasing to finish on a high. We were excellent throughout and thoroughly deserved our win.
“The girls bought into our game plan and executed it perfectly – it was a fantastic team performance.”
Spartans announced that Sunday’s game receipts plus donations from players and management of both teams helped to raise £922.50 for the Jamie Skinner Foundation which supplies life-saving defibrillators.
Meanwhile, Hutchison Vale brought the curtain down on their campaign with a goalless draw at home to already- relegated Queen’s Park.
