Heriot-Watt-University start their Central Taxis First Division campaign this weekend with a tricky trip to face Duns at New Hawthorn Park.
Duns got off to a winning start in their opening league match on Wednesday night with a 4-2 derby win over Border neighbours Eyemouth United and will pose Chris Smith’s students a tough task. Watt will be aiming for their first win since their 3-1 success at Hawick Royal Albert in the Qualifying League Cup three weeks ago.
Ormiston travel to Burntisland Shipyard tomorrow, with the hosts still smarting from their Scottish Cup Preliminary defeat to Lothian Thistle Hutchison Vale last weekend. The visitors have come close to victory in their last two matches against Whitehill Welfare and Peebles Rovers but are still looking for their first win.
Ormiston manager Brian Johnson said: “Wednesday [a 3-2 defeat by Peebles] was really a game of two halves for us. We were dominant in the first half but conceded some sloppy goals in the second period. We travel to Burntisland this weekend, a side we know very well, and providing we can tighten up defensively I see no reason why we can’t get a result.”
