Edinburgh City take on East Kilbride at Meadowbank tomorrow and boss Gary Jardine doesn’t believe last week’s 1-5 loss at the hands of Spartans in the Scottish Cup is a true reflection of where the visitors are at.

“I don’t know if they got done trying to chase the game,” he said. “It was 1-1 for an hour and they conceded some quick goals, which can happen. If they win on Saturday, that would see them right up in contention with us. They’re more than capable of competing in this league.”

City welcome back Ross Allum and Frazer Paterson from suspension and work commitments respectively, but Jaxon Wishart will miss out with a recurring knee problem.

Spartans travel south to face Dalbeattie Star. Kevin Motion is back from suspension as they look to extend their unbeaten run to nine games. One player who looks likely to leave the club is Sean Mushin after the midfielder was made available for transfer.

Edinburgh University picked up just their second Lowland League victory of the season last weekend with a 3-1 win over Vale of Leithen at Peffermill. Dorian Ogunro’s team will be looking to repeat the trick against Borders opposition when they make the trip to Selkirk.
