Edinburgh University drew 1-1 at home to Stirling University in their first fixture since before Christmas.

Dorian Ogunro’s side drew first blood in this Lowland League encounter at East Peffermill, with forward Nathan Evans appearing to head home, even though Paul Sutherland, who delivered the corner, tried to claim it. Shelley Kerr’s visitors levelled on the stroke of half-time through Jeff Kessie, ensuring “student night” ended all square once more after the two sides drew by the same scoreline in the Lowland League Cup just before Christmas.

The point resulted in
Edinburgh leapfrogging BSC Glasgow into 11th place on goal difference, although Iain King’s side have five games in hand on the Students. Stirling Uni remain seventh on 25 points, trailing Dalbeattie Star above them on goal difference.
