Darren Smith, Scott Moffat and Liam O’Donnell were all on target for the Capital side at Whitestone Park in the 3-3 draw, with Paul Murray, Chris Taylor and John Ross Kerr on target for John O’Hara’s Peebles side as they secured their first point of the group.
Craigroyston were 2-1 winners over Hawick Royal Albert as Andrew Brown secured his first win in charge as manager of The St Mark’s Park outfit in the other Group B match at Albert Park last night.
Steven Moncur netted both goals for Craigroyston despite Nicky Rendall receiving his marching orders, with goalkeeper Sean Smith saving a Hawick penalty.
In Group D, holders Leith Athletic made it two wins out of two with a 2-0 victory over Heriot-Watt University at Meadowbank 3G, but there was disappointment for Ormiston as they crashed 3-0 to Coldstream at Woodside Park.
