SUPER LEAGUE

Broughty Athletic 0

Penicuik Athletic 3

Penicuik made the journey north, looking for a first-ever win at Broughty and took the lead in the 13th minute when Ryan McCallum fired home a free kick from 20 yards. They doubled the lead in the 33rd minute when Aaron Somerville latched on to a long pass from Greg Ross and lobbed the helpless Ross in the home goal. Broughty opened the second half brightly but Lewis Barr scored the visitors’ third on the hour with a composed finish and Penicuik went onto dominate possession and see out the game for a welcome three points.

Broxburn Athletic 1

Tayport 3

Broxburn lost this match in the last ten minutes with two wonder goals from Alan Tulleth. Broxburn took the lead on the stroke of half-time when a corner played in fell to Young and his shot was touched on into the net by Alexander Miller. With ten minutes left Tayport won a free kick 25 yards out in front of goal and Tulleth unleashed a cracker into the top corner. Six minutes later the visitors were in front. This time a corner into the box broke out to Stefan Elvin, who unleashed a shot into the bottom right-hand corner through a packed box. The third came from great passing play down the right and Tulleth got the ball 25 yards out and gave Maley no chance.

Camelon 3

Bonnyrigg Rose 3

Rose started the better going close several times but found themselves two down at the break. Substitute Jamie Glasgow took advantage of slack defending to score both goals. Wayne McIntosh came on for the Rose and made a huge impact. After Lewis Turner had pulled a goal back McIntosh hit two opportunist goals to put the Rose in front. Glasgow then hit his third of the match volleying Bald the keeper to complete the scoring in a fine match.

Camelon: Kane, Bell, Devlin, Graham, Grant, Fotheringham, Scott, D Ure, Allison, Grant, Kelly. Subs: Glasgow, I Ure, G Wright, S Wright.

Bonnyrigg: Bald, Brown, Donaldson, Stewart, Moyes, Hoskins, Archibald, Turner, McGachey, Nelson, Thomson. Subs: Kidd, Pobin, Whitson, Horne, McIntosh.

Newtongrange Star 1

Sauchie 3

A DISJOINTED looking Newtongrange stumbled to their fourth defeat of the season in six starts as Sauchie ran out comfortable enough winners. Sauchie had held the edge in a goalless first half but missed chances before Nitten opened their second half with a stunning free-kick goal from Craig Thomson in the 48th minute. Newtongrange chased a second elusive goal to secure the points but a double Sauchie whammy in 75 and 77 minutes did the damage. Conor Kelly punished a slack home defence, then – even worse for Star with Sauchie going 2-1 up – Iain Syme swept home a Brian Morgan corner. It got worse for the Star as a second booking for Steven Tulloch saw him sent off and Sauchie capped a fine win with Conor Kelly beating the home offside trap in 82 minutes to slot home the third goal past Renton.

Newtongrange Star: Renton, Thomson, Murray, Tolmie, Tulloch, L Currie, M King, Cherrie, Forster, Wilson, Motion. Subs: Dunn, Cropley, Somerville, McManus, McQueen.

Sauchie: Allan, Dolan, Syme, Topping, McCulloch, B Morgan, G Currie, Morrison, Kelly, Millar, Boyle. Subs: Duncan, McAdam, Bonnes, Love, Young.
