A RAMPANT Linlithgow Rose thumped a weary Bonnyrigg Rose side 7-0 last night reach the final of the Fife and Lothians Cup.
There were seven different scorers with Ruari McLennan, Colin Strickland and Scott Walker putting Linlithgow three up at the break.
Super League title-chasing Bonnyrigg looked a tired lot after seven games in 17 days and this told as goals from Tommy Coyne, Calum Smith, Roddy McLennan and Gordon Herd completed the rout.
Victorious boss Mark Bradley said: “To beat a team who are favourites for the Super League title in a fashion like this is great for the club.”
For Bonnyrigg manager Max Christie, it was a game too far. He said: “Linlithgow were terrific and we were off the pace from the kick off, but I can’t go into the dressing room and shout at the players. They have been magnificent for us this season and it’s still all to play for.”
Meanwhile, in the South Division, West Calder hammered Falkirk 6-0, Blackburn beat Edinburgh United 1-0, Tranent won 3-0 at Spartans, Stoneyburn beat Harthill 3-2 and Livingston drew 2-2 with Whitburn.
