Linlitgow Rose scord five goals to put Carluke out of the Junior Cup in this replay after the visitors had taken the lead in the 13th minute. Gordon Murphy turned neatly in the box and set up Ian Watt for a cool finish from eight yards.
Six minutes later parity was restored when Adam Nelson released Roddy MacLennan on the right and Calum Smith converted his low cross. Rose went ahead on the half hour through Tommy Coyne’s penalty after Roddy MacLennan had been pulled back by Craig Stewart.
The second half started with another penalty and once more it was MacLennan who was brought down, this time by Scott Bellew after rounding the Carluke keeper. Although Gavin McLachlan saved Coyne’s spot kick he couldn’t stop the Rose hitman from netting the rebound.
Rose notched their fourth before the hour when MacLennan rounded the keeper and although Stewart cleared his shot off the line, the Rose wideman followed up to score at the second time of asking.
The scoring was completed in the 65th minute thanks to an audacious back heel by Smith after Andy Shirra picked him out in the box.
There was no shortage of chances at both ends after that, but no further goals and Linlithgow progress to the third round.
