Lothian Thistle Hutchison Vale have appointed Raymond Carr as their new manager following the departure of Kevin Twaddle.

Carr returns to his former club following a spell on the committee at Civil Service Strollers. He had previously served as an Academy Liaison officer and Assistant Secretary at the Saughton Enclosure side.

Carr’s immediate aim will be to sustain the club’s Central Taxis Premier Division challenge, with the reigning champions currently three points behind league leaders Leith Athletic.

“I’m glad to be back at the club and to help stabilise the ship if you like,” said Carr.

“We’ll take it one game at a time in terms of the league, the priority is to continue with our ethos of youth development and to keep developing our own coaches internally.

“The advantage I have is that I know most of the current first-team squad, and will be working closely with Fraser Ogilvie and the rest of the back-room staff to keep the players motivated and focused for the remainder of the season.”

Lothian are also advertising for a Senior First Team Coach. Interested applicants are asked to send a CV to Tom Allison, Lothian Thistle Hutchison Vale CC, 49 Fords Road, Edinburgh, EH11 3HS.
