Edinburgh City moved ten points clear at the top of the Lowland league.

After Vinnie Parker had denied Ian McFarland the opening goal with a fine save, the City midfielder took his chance in the 15th minute when he headed in a Mark Torrance cross at the back post.

Parker then pulled off a great double save on the half hour, first pushing Ross Allum’s volley onto the bar and then blocking John Dunn’s follow up volley. Dougie Gair should have increased the home side’s lead soon after but he made a mess of his shot. Threave’s Ian Miller showed good skill to beat two defenders but he shot straight at Andrew Stobie. In the 57th minute, City increased their lead when John McDonald passed into the box where Gair chipped the ball over the keeper. City grabbed another two minutes later when Allum did well to take the ball over the diving Parker and into the net.

Threave’s Jamie Struthers was then denied by Stobie, the keeper blocking his shot with his legs before City went scored a fourth in the 75th minute with a cracking goal. Gair advanced down the left and fired a diagonal shot over Parker.
