Edinburgh University and Broomhill Sports Club Glasgow are the two new clubs admitted to the Lowland League this season and, as fate would have it, they meet in tomorrow’s opening match.

“Obviously we are very excited about this historic game and the players are absolutely buzzing at going up a level,” said University head coach Dorian Ogunro ahead of his side’s trip to Saracen Park in Glasgow’s West End. “It will be a great experience in the development process of our young players.

“All the clubs have been signing new and experienced players which is not something that we can do.”

Calum Murray and Dan Gerrard have left but most or last season’s team remains intact.

Turning his thoughts to BSC Glasgow, managed by former St Johnstone player John Brogan, Ogunro said: “I know very little about them. They are a new team and it will be a tough game for my players against an unknown quantity.”
