Miller won’t let Newtongrange bask in glory

NEWTONGRANGE STAR manager Alan Miller will not let his side rest on their laurels when they host Musselburgh tonight in a East Superleague clash (7pm).

Star had a terrific 6-2 win over Kelty Hearts at the weekend, but Davie McGlynn’s team will come calling at New Victoria Park on the crest of a wave themselves following their 3-1 win over Tayport.

“The league isn’t won on the first day, although it gives us a good start,” said Miller. “Davy McGlynn will bring his Musselburgh side here and they will be looking for points. We’ll need to be on our toes to keep the run going.”

In other Superleague clashes tonight, title holders Linlithgow Rose head to Fife to take on Hill of Beath and Broxburn have a home match against Bonnyrigg. Bo’ness take on Armadale, with several ex-Bo’ness players likely to be facing their old side.

Meanwhile, in the Premier League, newly-pomoted Livingston aim to capitalise on their 3-2 away win at Montrose Roselea in their match against Pumpherston, while Dalkeith host Arniston Rangers, Bathgate take on Fauldhouse and Penicuik play Kirkcaldy.

In the South Division, Tranent host Edinburgh United at Forester’s Park. West Calder are at home to Stoneyburn, while Whitburn face Falkirk JFC at Central Park. Dunbar entertain Haddington with Harthill facing Blackburn United.
