CAMELON JUNIORS secured a comprehensive 5-0 victory over league leaders Newtongrange Star at Carmuirs Park.

The home fans didn’t have to wait long for an opener and on 12 minutes Kevin Kelbie fired in a left-footed shot from 20 yards. Five minutes later Kelbie rolled the ball to Blair Batchelor, who placed it into the bottom corner from 16 yards. Then it was three on 38 minutes when great footwork from Craig Young opened up space for himself to drive the ball into the net.

The visitors’ Paul Tansey had an effort chalked off for offside just after the interval, then the outstanding Kelbie notched his second from a rebound after Allison’s penalty was saved by Kieron Renton on 76 minutes.

The scoring was rounded off in the 89th minute when the hard working Allison ran onto a through ball and slotted home.
