The Lowland League’s bottom side Preston were crushed 6-0 by a rampant Gretna side.

From the first whistle, Preston struggled to cope with Gretna’s direct approach to the match.

It did, however, take Gretna 35 minutes to break the deadlock, with a calm finish from Ian Anderson for his first of the afternoon. This caused a flare-up between two of Preston’s players, which seemed to affect the rest of the team. Gretna’s Anderson grabbed his double just before the interval.

Preston’s luck did not change after the break with the home side dominating the second half. Anderson completed his hat-trick in the 61st minute. There were further Gretna goals for McGuffie and a double from Milligan. Preston’s Osbourne was sent off for two bookable offences. Preston now face a crucial game versus Edinburgh University this weekend.
