Preston fought back from going a goal down to grab a share of the spoils against Gala.

The home team got off to a flying start when, following a foul by Preston’s Liam Todd, Ross Aitchison curled the free-kick over the wall and into the top corner.

This gave Gala the momentum but they squandered two clear-cut chances when their forwards went through one-on-one with Preston goalkeeper Craig Pennycuik.

Preston’s only real attempt at goal was a long-range effort from Dale O’Hara which came back off the post.

The visitors came out in the second-half with a lot more determination and pulled a goal back through Sean Martin.

He picked the ball up in the Gala half and produced a real moment of magic to skilfully dribble past two Gala defenders and calmly place the ball into the corner of the net.

Gala had Grant Robinson sent off late on for his second bookable offence.

Both teams pushed for the winning goal late on but both will probably consider the draw a fair result.
