Spartans have completed their summer transfer activity by making another two new signings.
The Capital club, who won the Lowland League last term, have snapped up goalkeeper Kevin Swain and attacking midfielder Michael Herd.
The duo join Iain Thomson, Errol Douglas, George Hunter and Craig Stevenson in being recruited by the Ainslie Park club ahead of their title defence. Swain, 28, has spent the last nine years with East of Scotland outfit Lothian Thistle Hutchison Vale after previous stints at Lochend and Albion Rovers.
Herd, 25, joins after two seasons with SPFL 2 outfit East Stirlingshire. Manager Douglas Samuel, who saw last season’s Player of the Year Mark Whatley leave to join Abroath, confirmed that there are unlikely to be any more new arrivals this summer.
He said: “The signing of Mikey Herd completes our business for the summer window. Herdy is a player with excellent technical ability.
“He brings with him senior experience and the ability to contribute in terms of goals from the middle of the park.”
