Spartans Manager Debbi McCulloch is hoping for the “perfect performance” as her side take on Hibernian
Ladies this evening for a place in the SWPL Cup final, writes
RICHARD PAYNE.

The Ainslie Park side are aiming to secure passage into the final for the fourth successive season with victory against their rivals at New Victoria Park, Newtongrange (kick-off 7:30pm).

Spartans lost 7-1 to the Hibees earlier this season in the league.

“Tonight will be hard, but if we play like we did in the first half against Forfar and the second against Hutchie, then that would be the perfect performance,” said McCulloch.

“I expect it will be an extremely tough game and if we stick by our beliefs and the individuals do their job then you won’t see the same type of game we had in the League.” Hibs, who last won the competition in 2011, have a number of injury doubts for this evening and boss Willie Kirk expects a battle.

He said: “We have a few players struggling which concerns me because we have a busy
period coming up.”
