Spartans have allowed defender Danny O’Donnell and midfielder Sean Muhsin to move on in search of regular first-team football.
O’Donnell spent 13 seasons with the North Edinburgh club – making over 350 appearances – but has been released to allow him to seek more regular action elsewhere.
Manager Dougie Samuel praised for the long-serving stopper, saying: “Danny has been a fantastic servant to the club. In my time here, he has played exceptionally well in a number of crucial matches and been a pleasure to work with.
“His departure is something we talked about over a month ago. However, we agreed Danny would stay until after the East Kilbride Scottish Cup game. Everyone in the club thanks him for his help in moving the club forward over his 13 seasons with us. We’ll miss his experience and we wish him well for the future”.
Muhsin has re-joined Heriot Watt University FC on loan until the end of the season.
“I’d like to thank Sean for all his efforts at Spartans.” added Samuel. “He played an important part in our title win last season and his crucial league goals earlier this season could yet prove vital. We wish him well and are delighted to help our friends at Heriot Watt with a loan arrangement.”
