HUTCHISON VALE boss Ian McDonald believes the Scottish Women’s Premier League split is making it harder for his club to improve their fortunes.

Hutchie face strugglers Falkirk at Saughton Enclosure tomorrow (kick-off 2pm) in a must-win contest if they are to avoid being dragged into a relegation battle.

McDonald said: “I’m not a big fan of the split because I feel it creates a gulf between the top and bottom clubs, making it harder for us to attract players.

“Some girls would rather be a squad player for one of the clubs in the top half.”

Elsewhere, Hibs Ladies face Glasgow City at Petershill Park, Glasgow (kick-off 2pm). The Hibees trail league leaders City by five points and go into the game knowing defeat would almost certainly end their title hopes.

Spartans play Rangers at Ainslie Park (kick-off 1pm).
