Bo’ness United suffered their second defeat of the Super League season losing valuable points at Tayport 2-1.
The visitors looked to be taking control of the game when they lost a goal against the run of play in 16 minutes. Stephen McPhee scampered down the right before getting over his cross and Matt Adam stooped to head in right on the far post.
Bo’ness almost equalised right away after Darren Gribben crossed from the right but Craig Scott’s header from close in went over the bar. However Bo’ness did get a goal in 33 minutes and again it was Darren Gribben this time crossing from the left. Steven Hislop flicked the ball on and Andy Scott fired in from close in.
The goal only subdued Tayport for a short time and it was the home side who finished the half strongly. Two minutes after the break Tayport scored what proved to be the winner. The ball arrived to McPhee on the right and he skipped into the Bo’ness box before netting a shot that Bo’ness keeper Mark Peat should have kept out.
Bo’ness went looking for an equaliser but they never looked convincing and they left empty handed.
