Andrew Young and Ricky Moffat kept the home flag flying with quarter-final wins in the Turnhouse Open.

Young crushed Greenburn’s James Johnston 8&7 after winning four of the first five holes.

Halves at the 5th and 6th only slightly halted the onslaught and Young piled on the misery for Johnston by winning won a further four holes between the 7th and 11th.

He now meets Simon Lockhart after the Bathgate man beat another home player, Gordon Leitch, 2&1.

Two down after nine holes, Leitch got back to within a hole but Lockhart wasn’t to be denied.

In the other half of the draw, Moffat played some lovely golf to accounted for West Lothian’s Michael Wilson and, in the final match, Silverknowes player Graham Robertson beat the holder, John Ralston, from Airdrie.
