Brodie Good is hoping some ‘Masters Magic’ will rub off on him when he competes in next month’s US Kids Golf European Championships in East Lothian.
The 15-year-old, pictured above, made the trip to Augusta last week along with his dad Alasdair, the Gullane club pro and tournament co-oordinator for the upcoming junior extravanganza.
“It was great to see how the players cope with the pressure of such an important tournament,” said Brodie after watching Bubba Watson win his second Green Jacket in three years.
“Last year I was runner-up in the European Championships so hopefully being surrounded by such talented players just weeks before the tournament will rub off on me so I can continue to improve my performance.”
The father-and-son duo played some golf themselves before arriving at the famed Georgia course.
“When I found out I could take Brodie on the trip to Augusta with me, I couldn’t wait to tell him,” said Good Snr.
“I have been myself once before and it is such a magical experience that I wanted Brodie to be able to see it for himself.”
The 2014 US Kids Golf European Championships takes place on May 27-29 on Gullane No. 2 and No. 3, Craigielaw, Luffness New and Longniddry.
Entry for the event is now open and more information can be found at www.uskidsgolf.com.
