CARRICKVALE bridged a 20-year gap to win the Midlothian Inter-Club event at Ravelston.
Darren Summers, Craig Elliot, George Alexander and Richie Tait formed the last Vale team to claim the crown.
Now their feat has been emulated by a line-up comprising of Allyn Dick, Josh Cullerton, Paul Cunningham and James Kerr. They upset the odds to beat Musselburgh 4&3 in the final, where Dick and Kerr finished one up on Kenny Wright and David Murray while Cunningham and Cullerton were three up on Callum Burgess and Jamie Wright.
Vale beat defending champions Glencorse then Swanston New before that to emerge as worthy winners.
“It was a fantastic victory given the strength of the Musselburgh team,” said Dick as he celebrated Carrickvale’s biggest success since a 2013 Dispatch Trophy triumph – their fourth victory in that event in six years.
“We all played excellent and it’s another great victory for the club,” added this year’s Lothians Order of Merit winner.
