RYDER CUP tales will be on the menu when David Huish takes centre stage at the Lothians Golf biennial dinner.

One of the guest speakers at the Easter Road Stadium event on Friday, November 6, Huish will be recalling tales of his colourful career.

For more than 40 years, it was spent as the head PGA pro at North Berwick, where his son, Martyn, is now in that job.

But, as a former PGA captain and a Ryder Cup committee member, Huish also enjoyed being close to the action in the biennial bouts between Europe and the US.

Joining Huish in addressing the audience at one of the highlights on the dinner circuit in golf circles will be Jim Robertson, the Assistant Procurator Fiscal for the East of Scotland since 2012.

Meanwhile, Midlothian and West Lothian were the two winners in the opening round of matches in this season’s Lothians & Fife GA’s Winter League.

Both played at Turnhouse, Mid beat East 5-3 while West defeated Fife 6-2.

Performance of the day was by West teenager Ross Callan, who bagged an eagle and seven birdies in carding a 62. East’s Zander Culverwell was six-under in his match.
