Duddingston duo Iain Stavert and Stuart Smith came up with the winning combination as the East Alliance visited Eyemouth.
The picturesque Berwickshire course hosted the Invitational Better-Ball, which attracted 45 teams consisting of one member and a guest.
The Richardson and Brownlee Trophy was up for grabs on a well-prepared track and, as an added bonus, the season’s kind weather continued.
Both Stavert and Smith have been around the block a few times, winning no fewer than five Lothians Championships between them.
And, as well as securing the main prize with a nett 65, they also had the day’s best scratch score with a four-under-par 68.
David Nicolson (Craigielaw) with his guest Graham Muir (Kingsknowe) finished second in the handicap section on 67 – three shots clear of Robert Marshall (Greenburn) and Stephen Buntin (Polkemmet) in third place.
With Stavert and Smith claiming the handicap honours, the scratch prize went to the next best score – the 71s carded by Renaissance duo Neil Henderson and West Lothian pair Alan Reid and Paul Dick.
Next week sees the penultimate outing of the season at Broomieknowe before the annual East Championships take place at Gullane on March 26.
