Craigielaw’s Grant Forrest has earned another Great Britain & Ireland cap after helping Scotland retain the European Team title for the first time in close to 40 years.
The Scottish No.1, who helped GB&I win the Walker Cup at Royal Lytham last September, has now been picked for next week’s St Andrews Trophy in Kent.
He’ll be joined at Prince’s Golf Club for the two-day contest against Continent of Europe by two of his compatriots – Glencruitten’s Bob MacIntyre and Connor Syme from Drumoig.
They were also in the Scottish side that beat Sweden 5-2 in Saturday’s final at Golf de Chantilly for a third European triumph in seven years.
Forrest, who is set to join the paid ranks later in the year, played his part by picking up four points from five matches.
“The team have been superb all week,” said Scottish national coach Ian Rae. “The players have performed so well in each of the three matches.
“To win back-to-back titles is a great achievement and the players should be really proud of the way they’ve prepared, performed and worked together.”
