COUNTY champion David Miller led the way as Lothians beat a strong Gullane team on their home patch in a trial match.
Duddingston man Miller beat John Cleland 2&1 in the top match as the LGA ran out 6-4 winners. It was a good day for the Longniddry contingent in the Lothians side, with Michael Bacigalupo, Connor Farrell and Duncan Martin all winning their matches.
Kieran Cantley (Liberton) and Benn McLeod (Musselburgh) were the other Lothians victors, with two of Gullane’s points coming from LGA squad members – Ross Thomson and George Thomson.
They both won on the final green, as did former Scottish champion Simon Mackenzie as he came out on top against Jordyn Rhind from Kingsfield.
The LGA now take on Duddingston in another trial match on March 15, but a third one at Kingsknowe has had to be cancelled due to the club having an internal competition on the original planned date.
