LIBERTON’S Anthony Blaney is in the running to complete a Scottish Area Team title double after being included in the Lothians line-up for tomorrow’s friendly against Northumberland at Prestonfield.
Blaney has been an integral part of Lothians under-18s, winning the Boys’ Team Championship for the last three years, and now he’s in with a chance of making his debut in the men’s version at Crail next month.
Tomorrow’s match is likely to be a key factor in the final selection of the six-man team and Lothians officials are desperate to get back on the winning trail in the Area Team Championship, an event they dominated before a format change.
Lee Morgan, now playing out of Dunbar, is another youngster in a side that includes four former Lothians champions – Allyn Dick (Kingsknowe), Steven Armstrong (Turnhouse), Keith Nicholson (Haddington) and Mark Timmins (Pumpherston).
It also contains the last two winners of the Lothians Order of Merit in Craigielaw’s Ross Noon and Benn McLeod of Musselburgh, as well as The Renaissance’s Neil Henderson.
Completing the home line-up are Longniddry’s Michael Bacigalupo, Craig Deerness of Harburn and Greenburn’s Gary Corrigan.
