Archerfield’s Lloyd Saltman followed up a recent win on the Jamega Tour by claiming the East Alliance Championship for a second time.

He shot two rounds in the 60s at Gullane to claim the UniRoyal Trophy and repeat his 2006 success in the season-ending event.

Saltman was a shot behind The Hirsel’s Daniel Wood after his morning 62 on the No 3 Course and, after adding a four-under 67 on the tougher No 2 layout, he finished five shots clear of the field.

Turnhouse pro Scott Grieve, who carded 69 and 65 the other way round, claimed second spot by two shots from Greenburn’s Scott Catlin (70, 66).

The amateur prize, the Gavin Clark Trophy, was won on a countback by Harburn’s Robin Cockbun, pipping Glyn Stevens (Kings Acre) after both carded 140 net totals.

In a dramatic finish to the Scratch Order of Merit, Bathgate trainee Louis Gaughan jumped ahead of long-time leader Ross Neill (Drumpelllier) to claim the crown.
