CRAIGIELAW’S Jane Turner made her Edinburgh & East of Scotland Alliance debut in yesterday’s event at Musselburgh.
The Scottish international shot a 78 playing off the same tees as the men on a Monktonhall course playing its full length.
Turner is the second leading Scottish player to turn to an Alliance for some winter competition after Laura Murray played on the North-East circuit last year.
The TC Jordan Trophy, the main prize up for grabs, was won by Glyn Stephens (Kings Acre) with a net 69 playing off seven. He finished a shot ahead of Prestonfield five-handicapper Richard Stott, with the host club’s Phil Leggate, playing off 11, two further back in third.
Top scratch prize went to Alliance president Andrew Marshall, the Houston Golf Range player carding a level-par 71.
It gave him a one-shot win over Allyn Dick (Kingsknowe), Andrew Erskine (Ratho Park) and Ross Neil (Drumpellier).
The senior prize was shared by Uphall’s Ron Comber and Royal Burgess stalwart Ian Taylor with net 74s.
The next outing at Royal Musselburgh on October 17.
