Gullane blew the opposition away to win the Junior Team Golf Scottish Final at windswept Kingsbarns.
Looking at home in the testing conditions, the East Lothian club came out on top ahead of Turnhouse, Eastwood and Haggs Castle.
It was Gullane’s first title triumph in the event on their fourth appearance in the finals in seven years.
As a reward, they’ll now represent Scotland against the other Home Nations champions in Spain next March. “Conveners Martin Black and Gail Chalmers have built a strong team with over 15 of the section playing during the season for the junior team,” said a club spokesman.
The team at Kingsbarns included both low and high handicap players. Unusually, it also comprised two sets of brothers, the Ladbrookes and the Chalmers.
In the team, too, was Joanne Free, who represented Scotland in the Junior Home Internationals this year and was the winner of the Scottish Girls Champion of Champions.
On this occasion, she posted a 78, which was matched by Andrew Ni, who has represented the Lothians at junior level.
Not to be outdone, captain Oliver Ladbrooke, a graduate of Clubgolf, also carded a 78, which also proved the best net with a 73.
The success followed Gullane Juniors claiming an East Lothian double this season.
“In his last season as a junior, Ollie achieved all the objectives in his captaincy role and now looks forward to packing his golf bag for a final junior team match in Andalucía in March,” added the spokesman.
